Lockdown 4.0 was the topmost trending search overall in India during May. Google revealed while detailing search trends on the coronavirus pandemic in the country. The country imposed the national lockdown on March 24 to limit the spread of COVID-19. Since it completed three phases until May 17 and entered its fourth phase on May 18, a large number of people used Google to understand the fresh guidelines issued by the government.
As per Google's search trends for May, the most searched term, overall, for the month was “Lockdown 4.0”, which spiked +3,150%.
The second top trending term during the month was “Eid Mubarak”, that spiked +2,650%.
The top trending related topic for coronavirus is “vaccine”, which increased by +190% in May. Vaccine-related searches reached a new record high during the month — the daily peak was on May 6.
Last month, Google revealed that recipe-related searches hit a new record high in India.
While 'dalgona coffee recipe at home' spiked 5,000 percent, searches for 'chicken momo recipe' grew 4,350 percent and searches for "mango icecream recipe" saw a 3,250 percent rise.
